Volunteers are one of the most important assets to the Chandler Police Department. Many of our programs would not exist without volunteer participation. In 2007, 65 volunteers dedicated over 12,000 hours to the Chandler Police Department and the Chandler community.
Volunteers In Policing Program
- A year commitment is required of all volunteers.
- Volunteers are asked to donate at least 16 hours per month to the program.
- The Chandler Police Department provides all training and equipment.
- Hours are flexible and can include days, nights and weekends.
Volunteer Positions
- Community Services Unit Volunteer: Volunteer will assist with coordinating projects and various tasks related to Neighborhood Watch and Crime Prevention programs.
- Fingerprint technician: Volunteer will do the non-criminal fingerprinting for the department.
- General Clerical Assistance: Volunteer will assist with clerical duties and special projects in various area of the police department.
- Motorist Assist Aide: Volunteer will use a marked vehicle in order to respond to stranded motorists or accident scenes. Volunteers will also issue citations for fire lane and handicapped parking violations, assist with emergency vehicle lockouts, found property calls and conduct neighborhood patrols.

- Warrants: Volunteer will assist with preliminary background research for outstanding warrants using a phone and computer.
- Various other volunteer opportunities available.
